Industrial production in Austria declined in September from a month earlier, data published by Statistics Austria revealed Friday.

Production fell 0.6 percent month-on-month in September in seasonally adjusted terms. In the construction sector, output grew 0.5 percent from August. The overall production index was down 0.5 percent.

On a working day adjusted basis, industrial output grew 0.1 percent year-on-year while construction fell 0.5 percent. The total production index dropped 0.1 percent annually.

Compared with September 2012, production of intermediate goods rose 1.9 percent while that of durable consumer goods increased 0.1 percent. Output of capital goods industry decreased 0.3 percent.

Output of durables fell 0.4 percent year-on-year and that of energy plunged 8.8 percent from last year.
