2012.07.2309:07:00UTC+00German Economy May Have Expanded In Q2: Bundesbank

The German economy is likely to have expanded in the second quarter as a slight fall in industrial production was offset by construction and services growth, the Bundesbank said in its monthly report on Monday.

"The economy should have grown at a moderate pace in the Spring," the central bank said. The outlook is subject to great uncertainty, it added.

In a report released on July 20, the Finance Ministry said growth slowed 'somewhat' in the second quarter amid weak industrial production. According to ministry forecast, the economy will grow at a moderate pace during the rest of the year.

Official second quarter gross domestic product data is due on August 14. The largest Eurozone economy expanded 0.5 percent in the first quarter.
