2016.08.1709:23:00UTC+00Gold Lower Ahead Of Fed Minutes

Gold futures fell Wednesday morning ahead of the minutes of the most recent Federal Reserve meeting.

Analysts expect the minutes to reveal some discussion of when to raise interest rates.

However, Fed members were not yet privy to the blockbuster July jobs report, the second in a row showing significant improvement in the jobs market.

The Fed next meets in September, and although a rate hike is not likely, some Fed members have made hawkish remarks hinting some tightening before year's end.

Gold for December was down 7 dollars at $1350 an ounce.

Silver dropped below $20, losing 14 cents this morning.
