Precious metals market is gradually recovering from the crisis

Precious metals prices went up on Wednesday. The reason for the positive trend is the same as recently – the weakness of the US dollar. The dollar began to actively sink against the main currencies of the world, which immediately affects precious metals.

The price of gold futures for April delivery on the electronic trading floor increased by 0.4%, or $ 7.4, to $1,844.9 per troy ounce. At the same time, the level of support for the precious metal amounted to $1,784.6 per troy ounce, and resistance went to the area of $1,849.5 per troy ounce.

Silver futures contracts for March delivery also rise 0.19%, to $27.453 per troy ounce.

Platinum futures for April delivery showed a particularly strong jump on Wednesday by 2.38%, which moved the contracts to the level of $1,219.5 per ounce. It should be noted that a little earlier the precious metal rose even higher and reached the level of $1,221.8 per ounce, which was its maximum value over the past six years.

Copper futures recorded an equally significant growth of 1.26%, to $3.7652 per pound. If everything goes on like this, copper could very soon reach its strategically important mark of $4 per pound level.

Meanwhile, the rate of the US dollar began to drop significantly. Its index against a basket of six major world currencies in the morning decreased by 0.05% and reached 90.377 points. This made precious metals more accessible to foreign exchange holders, which they rushed to take advantage of, bringing positive to the precious metals market as a whole.

Aside from the dollar, market investors are also concerned about the new portion of statistical data which is expected to be released on Wednesday. Most of all, market participants are interested in the US inflation rate for the first month of this year. So far, according to preliminary data, it is expected to accelerate to about 1.5%. Recall that a month earlier, the figure was recorded in the region of 1.4%. For gold, this level will play a fundamentally important role, since the metal has traditionally been a defensive sector that investors turn to in case of an increase in inflationary risks. If in January the indicator is higher than December, gold will receive additional stimulus for growth and support. The only question is, how long will this support the gold since there are still a huge number of problems and difficulties.

At the same time, analysts say silver will get an additional boost soon. Silver is predicted to have a particularly rapid rise in the coming year, so investors should think about making a profitable purchase with the prospect of medium and long-term growth.
