2025.10.3108:00:02UTC+00Hungary Producer Inflation Ticks Up to 2.4%

In September 2025, Hungary's annual producer inflation increased slightly to 2.4%, up from an eleven-month low of 2.3% recorded in August. This uptick was driven by a rise in inflation for non-domestic output, which climbed to 3.3% from 3.0% in August. Conversely, inflation for domestic output continued its downward trend, decreasing to 0.5% from the previous 0.9%. Sector-specific changes included a rebound in prices for electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply, which moved to 0.1% from a decline of -1.9%. Furthermore, prices for water collection, treatment, and supply experienced accelerated growth, rising to 4.3% from 3.7%. However, the pace of price increases slowed in the mining and quarrying sector, with inflation easing to 0.7% from 1.0%, as well as in manufacturing, where inflation fell to 1.5% from 2.3%. On a monthly basis, producer prices saw a decline, decreasing by 0.4% in September, following a 0.8% drop in the previous month.
