The U.S. Labor Department released its customary jobless claims data for the week ended July 24 at 8:30 am ET Thursday. The claimants fell to 457K . Amid the release of the data, the dollar showed mixed trading versus other major rivals. The dollar fell against the euro and the pound, but leveled off soon. The dollar rose against the yen, but was little changed against the franc.

At present, the dollar is trading at 1.3065 against the euro, 1.0459 against the franc, 87.0 against the yen and 1.5610 against the pound.
