The Japanese yen dived for a second day versus the US dollar as stocks advanced worldwide before US reports this week.

It declined against all of its 16 major counterparts as a surge in crude oil prices lowered the appeal for haven assets.

The currency dropped 0.5% to ¥119.86 per greenback following it slid 0.7% yesterday. It weakened 0.4% to ¥141.70 per euro.
