30.03.202610:00:00UTC+00Ireland’s Harmonised Inflation Jumps to 3.6% in March, Marking Sharp Year-on-Year Acceleration

Ireland’s Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) accelerated in March 2026, rising to 3.6% year-on-year, according to data updated on 30 March 2026. This marks a notable pickup from February 2026, when the annual rate stood at 2.5%.

The figures mean that consumer prices in Ireland, measured on the harmonised basis used across the euro area, are rising significantly faster than a month earlier when compared with the same period a year ago. The “actual” March reading reflects price changes versus March of the previous year, while the “previous” February figure was calculated against February a year earlier.

The renewed upward momentum in HICP underscores a strengthening in inflationary pressures compared with early 2026, and will be closely watched by market participants and policymakers assessing the trajectory of prices in Ireland within the broader euro-zone context.
