Asian stocks suffered losings on Friday as an abrupt sell off on Wall Street eclipsed mellow Chinese consumer inflation figures.

China's consumer prices climbed 2.4% in March from last year but producer prices dropped at an annual 2.3%. Japan's benchmark index declined below 14,000 points for the first time since October because of a firmer yen as the currency ascended to a three-week peak versus the greenback at ¥101.3.

Among the tech and internet shares, Softbank tumbled 5%, Rakuten slacked 2%, and Panasonic erased 1%.

Mainland shares decreased after it finished at their highest level in almost two months on Thursday. Among the most active stocks, cement maker Anhui Conch decreased 2.6% while brokerages prolonged the previous day's losses with Founder Securities slipped 0.8%.

Speaking at a panel in the US, People's Bank of China Vice Governor Yi Gang said officials must be cautious in executing stimulus steps since they were less effective than natural market forces in bolstering growth.

South Korean shares retreated following it spiked to a fresh 2014 peak in the last session while the won also dived after Thursday's six-year high versus the US dollar.

Internet search engine operator Naver missed more than 3%, trailing losses in global tech shares. Samsung Electronics slid over 1% as the fifth version of its Galaxy S smartphone will be on sale worldwide this Friday.
