Among the components of the Dow Jones index, the leaders in growth after today's trading were the shares of Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ), which rose by 1.50 p. (0.92%) and closed at 165.18. The quotes of UnitedHealth Group Incorporated (NYSE:UNH) rose by 2.98 p. (0.61%) and ended the session at 491.92. Verizon Communications Inc's (NYSE:VZ) stocks rose by 0.20 p. (0.54%) and closed at 37.30.

The least gainers were the stocks of Dow Inc (NYSE:DOW), whose price fell by 2.89 p. (5.22%) and ended the session at 52.50. The shares of American Express Company (NYSE:AXP) rose by 4.47 p. (2.78%) and closed at 156.12, while Intel Corporation's (NASDAQ:INTC) stocks decreased in price by 0.78 p. (2.63%) and ended trading at 28.88.

Among the components of the S&P 500 index, the leaders in growth after today's trading were the stocks of Brown & Brown Inc (NYSE:BRO), which rose by 3.18% to reach 63.00, Centene Corp (NYSE:CNC), which gained 2.45% and closed at 69.32, as well as the shares of Fiserv Inc (NASDAQ:FISV), which increased by 2.38% and ended the session at 120.09.

The least gainers were the stocks of First Republic Bank (NYSE:FRC), which decreased in price by 49.25% and closed at 8.12. The stocks of SVB Financial Group (OTC:SIVBQ) lost 19.17% and ended the session at 0.58. The quotes of Signature Bank (OTC:SBNY) decreased in price by 15.71% to reach 0.13.

Among the components of the NASDAQ Composite index, the leaders in growth after today's trading were the stocks of Centogene B V (NASDAQ:CNTG), which rose by 120.27% to reach 1.63, CXApp Inc (NASDAQ:CXAI), which gained 98.73% and closed at 12.50, as well as the shares of Apollomics Inc (NASDAQ:APLM), which increased by 59.65% and ended the session at 6.45.

The least gainers were the stocks of TRACON Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:TCON), which decreased in price by 46.63% and closed at 0.95. The stocks of Tempo Automation Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:TMPO) lost 42.25% and ended the session at 0.46. The quotes of Vyant Bio Inc (NASDAQ:VYNT) decreased in price by 36.71% to reach 0.35.

The shares of First Republic Bank are plummeting in value by almost 27% after the bank reported a loss of over $100 billion in deposits for the first quarter of this year.

The stocks of General Motors are down by 3% after publishing results for the first quarter. The company reported a net profit decline of over 18% to $2.4 billion.

Meanwhile, the shares of Spotify are up by 4.6% after the streaming platform released a report on its best first quarter since 2018. The number of active Spotify users increased by 22% year-over-year to 515 million people, while users with premium subscriptions increased by 15% to 210 million.

At the New York Stock Exchange, the number of stocks that fell in price (2498) exceeded the number of those that closed in the green (486), while the prices of 74 stocks remained virtually unchanged. On the NASDAQ stock exchange, the stocks of 2822 companies decreased in price, 763 increased, and 156 remained at the level of the previous closing.

The CBOE Volatility Index, which is based on trading data for options on the S&P 500, increased by 11.31% to reach 18.80.

The futures contract for gold with delivery in June added 0.34%, or 6.75, reaching $2,000 per troy ounce. As for other commodities, futures contracts for WTI oil with delivery in June decreased by 1.99%, or 1.57, to $77.19 per barrel. Futures contracts for Brent oil with delivery in July fell by 2.30%, or 1.90, to $80.64 per barrel.

Meanwhile, on the Forex market, the EUR/USD pair decreased by 0.60% to 1.10, while the USD/JPY quotes fell by 0.38% to 133.71.

The futures contract for the USD index increased by 0.49% to 101.57.
