Denmark’s consumer confidence index rose to -13.1 in February 2026 from -13.4 in January, reaching its highest level since January 2025. Expectations for the overall economic situation improved for both the present (-20.7 vs. -24.4) and the year ahead (-12.8 vs. -15.8). At the same time, households became less pessimistic about their financial situation over the next 12 months, with that indicator moving closer to neutral (-0.8 vs. -1.5). By contrast, views on current household finances worsened (-12.4 vs. -8.2). Sentiment regarding major purchases also weakened, both for current conditions (-18.7 vs. -17.2) and for the next year (-6.4 vs. -4.3).

Among the components not included in the headline confidence index, consumers reported slower price increases, both for the present (33.2 vs. 44.5) and the coming year (11.9 vs. 18.1). In addition, concerns about unemployment over the next 12 months eased, with that indicator improving to 13.2 from 15.6.
